Standards:

Satra TM92 & 77

Applications:

The tester is designed to examine the footwear dynamic flexing endurance in wet and dry conditions.

Product Information:

The Footwear Dynamic Flection Tester is used to determine the footwear dynamic flexing performance in dry or wet environment. The machine is supplied in both single or twin station formats and the action simulates the flexing of footwear during wear. The angle of flex is adjustable up to 50°. The machine may be used to predict the failure of footwear in wear. It is particularly useful in assessing problems associated with bottom construction. Footwear is clamped to the machine at the toe end using the appropriate toe clamp from one of five pairs supplied. The heel end is secured to the flexing bar. A predetermining counter is fitted and once the appropriate number of flexes has been registered, it will stop the machine so that the shoe can be inspected. The machine is robust and non-corrosive materials are used where applicable in its construction.

MACHINERY DESCRIPTION

The machine is composed of:

a) Plate forced to oscillate with a frequence of 140 oscillation/minute.

b) Two adjustable artificial feet either in size and position

c) Digital cycle counter, with a reset function, to set the desired number of cycles for the test.

d) An angle regulation with adjustable zero start point.

e) A water container with a little pump connected to the platform which allows to keep wet the sole on which the sample is placed. (for wet tests please use the cover)

TEST METHOD

A mechanical system provides a continuous flexing motion of the shoe. In this way it is possible to measure:

- The minimum flexion cycles needed to observe eventual water penetration

- The sample weight increase percentage after the water absorption, during one or more time intervals.

- The quantity “m” of water which goes through the sample, during one or more time intervals
