Blanket Flammability Tester
BACKStandards:
American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) ASTM D4151
Applications:
This tester is used to measure the ignition resistance property of blanket fabrics and surface flame spread performance of fabric. A standardized flame is applied to the surface of specimen for a special time under controlled conditions, and burning, changing, or discoloration of a paper monitor is noted to classify flammability of tested fabric.
Product Information:
The Bed Blanket Flammability Tester assesses flame retardancy and surface flame spread of bed blanket fabrics. It burns samples with a standardized flame, observing damage or discoloration on test paper for grading. Featuring a transparent observation window and flame ruler, it evaluates spread speed and damage length. Made of stainless steel, it ensures accurate flow/time control, records burn time, and resets automatically for efficient, user-friendly operation.
Features:
1. Stainless steel test cabinet, equipped with transparent viewing window;
2. 18# needle flame, flame length adjustable;
3. Igniting time pre-set freely;
4. Timer accuracy up to 0.01 second;
5. Provide with a hair brush device, a sample frame;
6. Provide with a standardized flame calibration template.
Standards:
ASTM D4151: Standard Test Method for Flammability of Blanket
GB/T11049-2008: Burning behaviour of carpets - Tablet test at ambient temperature
BS 4790: Method for determination of the effects of a small source of ignition on textile floor coverings (hot metal nut method)
ISO 6925: Textile floor coverings - Burning behaviour - Tablet test at ambient temperature

Test Procedures
After the sample is ready and the instrument is commissioned, place the assembled sample clamp on the specimen holder.
Open the gas valve and supply the gas to the fire pipe. Use the electronic igniter to fire the burner
Press the start button on the control panel. The fire tube moves forward and moved to the test position under the action of the mechanical transmission. Then, Start the ignition of the sample and test paper on the sample holder
At the same time to start the ignition timing system, the control panel display and record the ignition time. After a second, the fire tube moving backwards, the timer stop time. The experiment is end.
Finally remove the sample and test paper for rating.
FAQs:
1. What is a Blanket Flammability Tester?
