Meaning of Taber wear test?
Taber abrasion test refers specifically to the measurement of sliding contact caused by material wear test. Examples of such contact are scratching, grinding and friction. The test, also known as abrasion test or wear resistance test, is particularly suitable for geology, engineering and Metallurgy and other fields.
In these technical areas, taber abrasion test is important to determine the durability of the materials used in production and application. Through wear testing, manufacturers can also test the degree of harm to the environment caused by corrosion of materials.
In general, there are three types of wear tests. We have plane wear tests where material corrosion is caused by surface friction. Next, we conduct edge wear tests and test the edges of the material, which is particularly important for the textile industry. Finally, we also have bending wear, that is, testing to determine changes in the material after folding, bending or bending.
