EU publishes SCIP notification data for SVHC substances

On September 14, 2021, the SCIP database has been opened to the public. About 6000 companies in the European Union have successfully fulfilled their obligation to submit information about SVHC substances in articles to the SCIP database. The SCIP database now includes notifications for more than 4 million articles. It is now possible to query the database by searching for the name of the article, brand, product category, material type or substance name. The opening of the data will help consumers to make more informed decisions by inquiring whether the product contains dangerous chemical substances and reading the safety instructions. Consumer choices can also help waste operators to further improve the recycling of goods and materials.
