Textile Testing Instruments-Introduction to Testing Methods of Fabric Air Permea

Breathability is an important performance index that determines whether textiles are comfortable or not. Next, we use Air Permeability Tester to test the breathability of a certain garment textile fabric, and introduce new testing methods.
 
At present, the test methods of air permeability mainly include two methods, namely, the constant flow pressure measurement method and the constant pressure difference measurement flow method. The air permeability of fabrics mainly adopts the constant pressure difference measurement flow method, and the reference method standard is GB/T 5453-1997 Determination of Air Permeability of Textile Fabrics.
Air Permeability Tester
(1) Cut 10 samples with a diameter of 12 cm from the surface of the fabric sample.
(2) Clamp the cut specimen to the air permeability tester.
(3) Adjust the pressure control valve to adjust the pressure difference on both sides of the specimen. When the pressure difference on both sides of the sample reaches the set value, the test stops, and the device automatically displays the air flow through the sample under the set pressure difference.
(4) Repeat steps (2) and (3) until all 10 samples are tested.
 
test results:
The air permeability of the 10 samples were 13.15 L/min, 13.36 L/min, 13.60 L/min, 13.13 L/min, 13.11 L/min, 13.29 L/min, 13.53 L/min, 13.48 L/min, 13.29 L/min, 13.35 L/min.
