2023: China Cotton Association and American Cotton Association

Recently, during the 2023 China International Clothing Expo (CHIC Spring Exhibition), the China Cotton Association (CCA) and the American International Cotton Association (CCI) held talks during the exhibition, exchanged information on the progress of sustainable cotton projects between the two countries, and communicated the relevant cooperation plans of the two sides this year.

The China Cotton Sustainable Development Project (CCSD) is the first sustainable cotton project in China led by the China Cotton Association in June 2021 and jointly launched by the China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, the China Cotton Textile Industry Association, the China Household Textile Industry Association, and the China Garment Association, aiming to promote high-quality and sustainable development of China's cotton industry. CCSD successfully held a promotion event in the CHIC Business Forum area and issued the first sustainable cotton production certification certificate in China.
 
The Trust Protocol for Cotton in the United States was initiated by the National Cotton Council (NCC) in 2020, aiming to enhance the sustainability of cotton cultivation and help protect the planet. Ms. Liu Jiemin, the newly appointed Director of CCI's China region, participated as a special guest in the CCSD promotion activity of "Sustainable Cotton - Commitment Starting from Cotton Fields" during the CHIC exhibition.
 
Gao Fang, president of China Cotton Association, Wang Jianhong, executive vice president and secretary-general, Li Lin, deputy secretary-general, Ms. Liu Jiemin, director of CCI China in the US, and Mr. Yuan Haiying, senior government affairs adviser of CCI, attended the meeting.
