Applications:

This instrument is suitable for measuring the high-temperature, high-shear viscosity of engine oils at 150℃, with a shear rate of 1.4 × 10⁶ s⁻¹, with viscosity expressed in mPa·s.

Product Information:

Testing Principle

The HTHS Tester G-8401 is designed and manufactured in accordance with SH/T 0703 and ASTM D5481 standards, for measuring the viscosity of engine oils under high-temperature, high-shear (HTHS) conditions.Under a constant temperature of 150℃, the oil sample in the injection tube is delivered and metered via an air pump connected to the injection tube. The oil flows through a capillary with an inner diameter of 0.15 mm under an inert gas pressure of 0.5–3.5 MPa, simulating actual high-temperature, high-shear conditions.During the test, the instrument automatically records the duration and stabilized test pressure, and automatically calculates the high-temperature, high-shear viscosity of the oil sample.

Applicable Standards

SH/T 0703-2020

ASTM D5481

Features

Equipped with a PLC programmable controller for automatic detection, calculation, and control, requiring minimal manual intervention.4-channel automatic sampling system, enabling simultaneous testing of multiple samples.Heating is performed using a metal heating device, achieving high temperature control accuracy of 150 ± 0.01℃.

Key components, including rotary valves, capillaries, and calibration standard oils, are imported from ConocoPhillips (USA).Features automatic pressure recommendation based on estimated viscosity, facilitating testing. After the test, the instrument automatically calculates results, which can be stored and printed, eliminating the need for additional calculation software.Supports connection to LIMS systems for data transfer and integration.
