Purpose

This machine is used to determine the indentation hardness of porous elastic materials. It can test polyurethane sponge foam samples according to national standard methods, accurately measuring the indentation hardness of materials such as sponges and foams. It can also be used to measure the specified indentation hardness of produced seat foams (such as backrest and seat cushion foams), providing precise hardness values for each foam component of a seat.

Principle

In the sponge foam compression stress test, the sample is placed between the upper and lower compression plates. The upper plate compresses the sample of a specified size downward at a set speed until the indentation specified by national standard methods (Method A, B, or C) is reached. The load cell on the upper plate senses the applied pressure and sends the data to the controller for processing and display, thereby determining the indentation hardness of sponge, foam, and other similar materials.
