The Ring-Block Friction and Wear Tester is a precision electromechanical testing instrument controlled by a computer and equipped with a precision servo loading system. The main spindle is driven by an AC servo motor and controller, providing a wide speed range, high torque at low speeds, and low operating noise.
The instrument measures key parameters including test force, friction force, test time, and spindle speed. When any parameter exceeds its preset limit, the corresponding alarm indicator is activated and the spindle automatically stops rotating. All test parameters can be displayed on the digital display and computer screen. The system can also record and generate curves such as test force-time, friction force-time, coefficient of friction-time, and temperature-time.
The tester uses an end-face sliding friction configuration under dry, unlubricated conditions. A relatively small test force is applied to the end face of a ring-shaped specimen. Sliding friction is generated between the fixed and rotating components, allowing the instrument to measure friction force, coefficient of friction, temperature variation, wear duration, and other parameters for evaluating the friction and wear performance of materials.
The Ring-Block Friction and Wear Tester has broad applications in various fields of tribology, petrochemical engineering, mechanical engineering, energy, metallurgy, aerospace, universities, research institutes, and other industrial and scientific research sectors.
