Product Information:

The Nonwovens Liquid Loss Tester is a precision instrument designed to evaluate the liquid penetration, slip, and loss performance of nonwoven fabric materials. It features a built-in liquid loss platform and sample fixture, enabling standardized testing of absorption and liquid retention characteristics, suitable for both R&D and production quality control.

Standards

EDANA 152.0-99 (Absorbent Hygiene Products – Liquid Loss Test)

ISO 9073-11 (Textiles – Nonwovens – Determination of Liquid Loss)

Optional references for hygiene products: ASTM F2331. EN 13726-1

Features

(1) Equipped with standardized liquid loss platform and sample fixture to meet test requirements

(2) Integrated dosing device delivers 25 mL of test solution continuously within 4 ± 0.1 seconds

(3) Manual or automatic liquid dispensing, with digital display for accurate timing

(4) Optional weighing system to measure liquid absorption quantitatively

(5) Adjustable slope for controlled liquid flow over the sample

(6) High precision and repeatability for reliable quality control results

Test Principle

A standard absorbent medium is placed beneath the nonwoven sample, positioned on a sloping pad. A specified amount of test liquid is applied to the sample. The liquid penetrates the nonwoven and is absorbed by the medium. By measuring the mass of the absorbent medium before and after testing, the liquid loss performance of the nonwoven sample is calculated.

Test Procedures / Maintenance

(1) Place the standard absorbent medium under the nonwoven sample.

(2) Mount the sample on the slope pad and secure with the fixture.

(3) Fill the dosing device with test liquid (e.g., artificial urine).

(4) Start the test: liquid is dispensed manually or automatically over 4 ± 0.1 s.

(5) Measure the mass of the absorbent medium before and after the test to calculate liquid loss.

(6) Clean the dosing system and sample fixture after each test to prevent residue buildup.

(7) Perform regular calibration checks for dosing volume and timing accuracy.
