Standards:

Applications:

This apparatus is widely used in:

Wool processing plants to determine grease content of wool tops and combed slivers.

Synthetic fiber production lines for monitoring finishing oil content.

Yarn production quality control.

Textile laboratories for research, development, and fiber treatment evaluation.

Educational institutions for practical training in fiber analysis.

Product Information:

The Fiber Oil Extractor, also known as the Rapid Grease Extraction Apparatus, is designed for rapid and accurate determination of grease or finish content in wool, synthetic fibers, yarns, or fabrics. Using solvent percolation and evaporation, the apparatus delivers fast results suitable for quality control and processing purposes in textile production. Multiple extraction units can operate simultaneously for higher throughput.

Standards

Edana Method ERT 155 – Determination of grease or finish content in wool and synthetic fibers.

Features

(1) Multi-unit design allows 1. 2. or 3 extraction units for simultaneous testing.

(2) Simple percolation principle ensures rapid and reliable extraction of oil content.

(3) Temperature-controlled hot-plate provides consistent solvent evaporation.

(4) Adjustable plunger and weight system ensures uniform packing and pressure in the extraction tube.

(5) Suitable for wool, synthetic fibers, and yarn; fabric can be tested after disintegration into yarn.

(6) Pedestal, extraction tube, plunger, cotton plug, tray, and hot-plate designed for durability and ease of operation.

Test Procedures

(1) Warm the hot-plate to the appropriate temperature using the power regulator.

(2) Place a pre-weighed aluminum tray on the hot-plate and secure it with the tray location ring.

(3) Position the fiber sample in the extraction tube and insert the plunger with the weight on top.

(4) Allow the solvent to percolate through the sample and evaporate in the tray.

(5) Ensure solvent evaporation rate matches filtration rate to prevent flooding or oil loss.

(6) After extraction, weigh the tray to determine the extracted grease or finish content.

(7) Repeat for additional samples or units as needed.

Maintenance

Regularly clean the extraction tubes, plunger, and tray to avoid contamination.

Check hot-plate temperature accuracy periodically; recalibrate if necessary.

Use only recommended solvents to prevent damage to apparatus components.

Store the apparatus in a dry, dust-free environment.

Inspect weights and plunger components for wear or damage to maintain consistent pressure.
