Such complicated testing items seem to be huge. In fact, with the continuous development of textile instrument industry, testing textile properties with special textile instruments can greatly improve work efficiency and save labor costs. Take the snagging and pilling performance of textiles, which we usually see most often. A sweater that was originally good is still very new, and Neil pilled soon after wearing it. Nothing is more annoying than this! This is why it is necessary to test the snagging and pilling performance of textiles! As consumers, according to whether textiles meet the national standards for snagging and pilling of textiles, they can buy satisfactory products.

Because there are great differences in raw materials, uses and export destinations of fabrics, the testing methods are also different when testing the snagging and pilling of fabrics. For example, martindale method and box snagging and pilling method are mainly aimed at European market, while random tumbling snagging and pilling method is mainly used when exporting to American market. The test method used for Chinese market is the round track pilling method.

1. method ofMartindale Abrasion And Pilling Tester

The martindale snagging and pilling test method mainly simulates the pilling when the fabric is constantly rubbed by itself. This method is suitable for wool fabrics and other woven fabrics which are prone to pilling.

2. method of fabric roll box pilling tester

This method mainly simulates the snagging and pilling situation of fabrics under self or external friction, and is mainly suitable for wool fabrics. The national standard corresponding to this method is GB/T 4802.3—2008 "Determination of snagging and pilling properties of fabrics—Part 3 Pilling box method".

3. method of Random Tumble Pilling Tester

The method mainly simulates the snagging and pilling of the fabric after high-frequency friction by itself or outside, and the corresponding national standard is GB/T 4802.4—2009 "Determination of the snagging and pilling properties of fabrics Part 4 Random rolling method".
