Test principle.

The factors affecting the abrasion resistance of woven fabrics are mainly the fiber raw material of the fabric, organization, warp and weft density, warp and weft yarn density, fabric thickness and surface density. The correlation derived from the experiment is as follows.
 
(1) The greater the deformation capacity of the fiber raw material in repeated stretching, the better the abrasion resistance of its fabric.
 
(2) For loose fabrics with low warp and weft densities, the abrasion resistance of plain tissue fabrics is better, but for tighter fabrics, the abrasion resistance of twill tissue fabrics is better than that of plain tissue under the same other conditions.
 
(3) Under the same conditions, the linear density of the yarn in the fabric, or the fabric warp and weft density, or the fabric thickness and surface density are positively correlated with the abrasion resistance of the fabric. The influence of the temperature and humidity conditions on the test results was mainly on the fibers, i.e., humidity had a significant effect on the abrasion resistance of viscose fibers, almost no effect on polyester and acrylic fibers, and some effect on nylon fibers.
