What is ASTM for bursting strength?

ASTM refers to the American Society for Testing and Materials, which is now known as ASTM International. The ASTM has developed a standard test method for determining the bursting strength of materials called ASTM D3786/D3786M - 13(2019) Standard Test Method for Bursting Strength of Textile Fabrics—Diaphragm Bursting Strength Tester Method. This test method covers the determination of the bursting strength of textile fabrics using a hydraulic diaphragm bursting tester. It is applicable to most textile fabrics, including woven fabrics, nonwoven fabrics, air bag fabrics, blankets, napped fabrics, knitted fabrics, layered fabrics, and pile fabrics.
